Are Diet Pills An Answer To Obesity?

4 Responses

One of the major health problems these days seems to be obesity. It has become a problem not only in the US, but also in many other countries like Australia, and even some developing countries. It's one of the leading cause for cardiac arrests and high blood pressure. Although people are becoming aware of this fact, many still take it lightly and take less or no precautionary measures. And those who take, slug it out to burn hundreds of calories. But today, people are inclining towards medication, that is, diet pills and surgeries.

Diet pills are becoming more and more popular these days. My friend, who once used to frequent the gym everyday, suddenly stopped going. Yet, even after discontinuing his course, he maintained his body. When I asked him about it, his answer was diet pills. They were a bit costly, but saved his lot of time everyday. Yeah, these pills can definitely help in saving a lot of time. But what are they?

As the name suggests, these pills help in burning the excessive fat in the body. Different types of pills act differently. Some affect the endocrine system, that is, secretion of some particular hormones that help in using up the stored fat very fast. While some affect the heartbeat rate. But their efficiency is still being questioned around the world. Many of them have prolonged effects. Since many people are turning towards these medicines, many frauds have come up, usurping billions of dollars.

I'm quite sceptical in the use of these drugs. What I feel is, if you really want to lose weight, you need to do it naturally. What these diet pills do is alter our internal body system, which is in a way, going against the nature. Agreed that they may help in saving time and energy, but one cannot overlook their side-effects. Who knows, sometimes they may also prove to be fatal to our lives. I would rather prefer running five kilometers than risking my life.

What do you think?

Beware! Mental stability is going haywire!

These days, I'm really scared to even glance at the newspapers. That's because, headlines such as "16-year old stabs boy in the eye", "17-year old guns down mate for bullying", "Frustrated Boyfriend shoots girlfriend's kin".....make your mornings absolutely terrible. Everyday, the papers are filled with gory images and news of frustated people killing few innocent ones. Earlier, this fever was only is in the West, but it is now slowly spreading all over the world. The United States tops the list for most number of such killings.

But, the crux of it is, what goes wrong in the mental setup of the individual, what exactly compels him to commit such a gruesome thing? Is it the atmosphere, the workload, or ego? I would certainly blame all the three. As a matter of fact, a bloating ego plays a leading role in driving the individual into commiting a murder. And this so called 'third generation' is full of it. Even in countries, children are becoming more stubborn, leave aside adolescent people, and are bent upon getting things they want. Just recently a 15-year old girl commited suicide just because her father didn't get her favourite outfit. In another case, a girl tried to commit suicide by jumping off her 7 floor building. And they reason? Not less marks, not depression, but the reason is this, her father disallowed from going for the picnic conducted by the school as the tests were nearing.

I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow, a student guns down his teacher for not favouring him, or a jilted son stabs his father for not giving him his share. Day by day, the tension, competition increases as man 'evolves', as man makes 'progress' and with that, the mind is getting bloated with the hot air waiting for it to explode.

The next question is, how do we stop it? Now this is something which, I suppose YOU should tell me........

Newton's Dark Secret - The World will END by 2060

It seems what Sir Isaac Newton said 300 years ago, may be a reality, after all. According to him, the world would end by the year 2060. He just didn't say it without thinking, but what he said was based on some mathematical calculatoions and the study of all the planets' motion and their gravity. The above document reveals this prediction(The first picture that has appeared in the Posts section). Actually, I discovered this prediction in a documentary, "Newton's Dark Secrets", and later I found this document in dailymail.co.uk . This documentary also reveals that Sir Newton was an alchemist, yes, an alchemist.

Maybe, all that he said was right, not from the scientific point of view, but looking at the present scenario now, I think the world may end even more early. Terrorism, global warming, other natural disasters, you name it. Today, our primary objective should be to reduce our dependencies on machines, remember, machines must be our slaves, we shouldn't be machines'. Secondly, scrap that bloating ego and learn to stay like humans. It wouldn't cost a penny to say sorry to someone. The proverbs aren't just for children. It's time for their wide-scale application. And the third would be hope. Never lose hope and faith in God.

With this note, let's hope we prove Newton wrong and make the world a peaceful place to live for all living beings. Do you wish to say something about this. Be free.........

World's First Complete Knee cap Replacement Surgery at AIIMS

2 Responses

In another first, after India's historic World Cup win, a team of Indian orthopaedics from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) replaced the kneecap completely along with the tendons and shin bone. This historic feat was performed on a lady Naida Khatoon, who was suffering from a rare cancer of the patella, which is the knee cap.

The 21 year old used to get excruciating pains in her right knee and soon her knee started swelling. After many tests, scans, etc. she received the bad news. The cancer was a threat to her mobility as she was unable to fold her knee. But facing against all odds, the orthopaedic surgeons entirely removed her knee cap, along with the shin and the tendons, and replaced with the others donated by a 52 year old lady after her death.

Now Naida can walk like any normal person and has zero susceptibility to get the cancer again. The patella cancer is quite rare and is mostly cured by removing the tumour, which has some chances of the cancer to resurface, or directly by amputation.
